London Borough Newham
We have a long, strong relationship with the @London Borough of Newham, so when they asked us for a decorative archway welcoming people to their new green space in Beckton, we were only too happy to help.
They came to us with a basic design overview which we turned into full fabrication drawings for a striking archway made of rolled circular hollow section. We then fit this to base plates that could be installed into pre-existing concrete pads at the site.
As for the lettering, we opted for 40mm thick steel which had to be cut using waterjets so that we could get the accuracy and neatness that you just can’t get from laser or flame cuts. We then powder coated the arch in one colour and the lettering in another colour to help this striking new local landmark pop.
